Piano Technicians Guild www.ptg.org The Piano Technicians Guild is the leading international organization for the betterment and education of piano tuners and piano technicians throughout the world. They continuously run conventions, both regionally and 1 national convention in the USA. The conventions have classes for learning for new and established technicians in all phases of the piano industry. There are also displays of the products, tools, education materials, etc. that are wonderful for the piano technicians. There is also a wealth of information for anyone interested in pianos. Take a look. Dampp-Chaser Corporation http://dampp-chaser.com/index2.html Dampp-Chaser, the leading manufacturer of Humidity Control Systems for pianos. Their systems are wonderful, they work, and they also care very much about their customers. Mason & Hamlin Pianos www.masonhamlin.com Mason & Hamlin pianos are some of the finest pianos made in the world. They are owned by PianoDisc (see below), and have made some real classic pianos, both in sound and construction. They are known for their patented "tension resonator" system, which helps keep the body of the piano stay the way it was made. There is very little shape change in a Mason & Hamlin piano. Wonderful instruments! Steinway Pianos http://steinway.com/index.shtml What can be said about Steinway - a class organization, excellent instruments, and for any one interested, go get a factory tour in their Long Island City facility. You need to call to arrange the tour. It is wonderful for seeing how a piano is manufactured, from beginning to end. The tour was great! Yamaha Piano & Disklavier http://yamaha.com/ Yamaha is a great organization, one that pursues excellence in products, and demands excellence from their employees and associates. They have a broad line of pianos, and computer players (Disklavier), as well as electric pianos known as Clavinova Digital pianos. PianoDisc http://pianodisc.com PianoDisc is a wonderful company that has manufactured extremely high quality computer players that are aftermarket systems for pianos. The systems are many, have been improved over and over throughout the years, and quality was never a questions - ALWAYS HIGH!
